Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the +law platform, websites, applications, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). The Service is operated by PlusLaw LLC, a Minnesota limited liability company ("+law", "PlusLaw", "we", "us", or "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
Account registration
To use the Service, you must create an account and provide accurate, current, and complete information. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us promptly at hello@pluslaw.com if you suspect any unauthorized access.
You must be at least 18 years old, and you must be authorized to use the Service for the firm you represent.
Subscription and payment
The Service is offered on a subscription basis. Subscription fees, included usage limits, and overage rates are described in your order form, the +law pricing page, or in a separately negotiated agreement. By starting a subscription, you authorize us to charge the payment method on file for all applicable fees, including taxes.
Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing cycle unless cancelled before the renewal date. Fees paid are non-refundable except as required by applicable law or expressly stated otherwise. We may change subscription pricing on prospective renewals with at least thirty days' notice.
If a payment fails, we may suspend the Service after reasonable notice. Repeated payment failures may result in termination.
Trial terms
We offer a seven-day free trial. Starting a trial requires a valid payment method, which is not charged during the trial period. At the end of the trial, your subscription begins automatically and the payment method on file will be charged for the selected plan unless you cancel before the trial ends.
Trial accounts have full access to standard plan features but may be subject to volume limits at our discretion to prevent abuse. Trial customers can cancel at any time via the admin console with no further charge.
Acceptable use
You agree not to, and not to permit any user to:
- Use the Service to violate any law, regulation, or third-party right.
- Send unsolicited communications, spam, or messages that violate the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, CAN-SPAM, or similar laws.
- Use AI voice intake to call individuals on a Do Not Call list, contact recipients outside permitted hours, or otherwise violate consumer-protection requirements.
- Upload or transmit malware, viruses, or other harmful code.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive source code from the Service.
- Resell, sublicense, or rent the Service to third parties without our written authorization.
- Interfere with the integrity or performance of the Service.
- Use the Service to handle data of types we do not support (such as payment card numbers stored in unstructured intake fields, or classified government information).
- Circumvent rate limits, usage caps, or other technical controls.
We reserve the right to investigate suspected violations and to suspend or terminate accounts that engage in prohibited conduct.
Customer data and privacy
Customer data means information that you or your end users (clients of your firm) submit to the Service. As between you and +law, you own and control all customer data. You grant +law a limited license to host, process, transmit, display, and otherwise use customer data solely as necessary to provide the Service to you.
Our handling of customer data is governed by our Privacy Policy and, where applicable, our Data Processing Agreement. You are responsible for ensuring you have the legal basis to collect and process customer data through the Service, including obtaining any required consents from your clients.
You are responsible for your own retention obligations under bar-association rules, malpractice insurance requirements, and applicable law. The Service provides tools to support these obligations, but it does not relieve you of them.
Intellectual property
+law and its licensors retain all right, title, and interest in and to the Service, including all software, documentation, designs, trademarks, logos, and other materials. These Terms do not grant you any rights in our intellectual property except for the limited license to use the Service as described.
Feedback you provide about the Service (including suggestions, ideas, and bug reports) may be used by us without restriction or compensation to you.
Term and termination
These Terms remain in effect for as long as you have an account. Either party may terminate for convenience with notice as specified in your order form, or in the absence of an order form, by giving the other party at least thirty days' written notice.
We may suspend or terminate your account immediately if you materially breach these Terms, if your payment method fails repeatedly, or if your use of the Service creates a security or legal risk to us or others.
Upon termination, you may export your customer data within thirty days using built-in tools. After that period, we may delete customer data from active systems. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including ownership, confidentiality, indemnification, disclaimers, and limitation of liability) survive termination.
Warranties and disclaimers
We warrant that we will provide the Service with reasonable care and skill, in substantial conformity with our published documentation. EXCEPT FOR THE EXPRESS WARRANTIES IN THESE TERMS, THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." WE DISCLAIM ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ANY WARRANTIES ARISING FROM COURSE OF DEALING OR USAGE OF TRADE.
We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free from harmful components, or that the results obtained from the Service will meet your specific requirements.
Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, NEITHER PARTY WILL BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOST PROFITS, REVENUES, OR DATA, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
EACH PARTY'S AGGREGATE LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE FEES PAID OR PAYABLE BY YOU FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO LIABILITY.
These limitations apply even if a remedy fails of its essential purpose. Some jurisdictions do not permit certain limitations of liability, so portions of this section may not apply to you.
Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless +law and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or relating to: (a) your customer data or the manner in which you use it; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your violation of any law or third-party right; or (d) any claim that arises from the use of the Service by you, your firm's staff, or your end users in a manner not authorized by these Terms.
Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Hennepin County, Minnesota, and each party consents to personal jurisdiction in those courts.
You agree that any claim must be brought in your individual capacity and not as a plaintiff or class member in any class or representative proceeding.
Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify customers by email and update the "Last updated" date. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the Service. Continued use after the effective date of an update constitutes acceptance.
